Abstract

The willingness to transpose a social fact embodied by the self-immolation into a legal fact represented by the
infringement of human dignity is not always convenient, as it can lead to a breach of peace. This equation created
by the self-immolation requires to investigate scrupulously and objectively a clarification in law. Hence, an analysis of this social fact through human rights, and mainly in regard to human dignity since it has an inextinguishable legal impact. Individual freedom of a human being is indeed imprescriptible; nonetheless, dignity of vulnerable persons can constitute a genuine impediment to their freedom.
