Gunshot wounds are frequent in forensic pathology. This article suggests some guidelines useful for the forensic
pathologist who performs an autopsy in case of lethal gunshot wounds. It also underlines that a close collaboration
between ballistics experts and forensic pathologists is required in order to make a correct interpretation of gunshot
wounds.
