THE PROMISES OF PRECISION PSYCHIATRY

Abstract

Precision medicine is a game changer for medical research
since the early 2000s. Its psychiatric version, precision
psychiatry, has essentially engaged in three different
research programs: genome-wide association studies,
focusing on risk factors for mental disorders; Research
Domain Criteria, focusing on constructs involved in
mental disorders; and drug repurposing. Even if successes
are far from dramatic, this paradigm has the advantage of
questionning some of the presomptions of the previous
paradigm in biological research in psychiatry
