Occupational diseases

Abstract

Recognition of occupational diseases is done by the system of tables of occupational diseases entitled to compensation
or the complementary system of recognition of occupational diseases.
Compensation for occupational diseases usually follows the principles of the disability-work accident or disabilityoccupational disease scales except in the particular case of compensation for pneumoconiosis and occupational
diseases caused by asbestos. In the latter case, the victim may appeal to the FIVA (Fonds de l’Indemnisation des
Victimes de l’Amiante – Compensation Fund for Victims of Asbestos).
