Abstract

A retrospective descriptive study was performed on workplace homicide cases which were selected from all
homicide autopsy cases which occurred from 1993 to 2007. 21 workplace homicide cases were found, corresponding
to 2.7% of all homicide cases. Most of the cases were male victims whose mean age was 47 years old. The occupational
activity of the victim was commercial in 57% of the cases. Homicide occurred during a robbery in 47% of the cases.
The offenders were strangers to the victims in 66.6% of the cases. Injuries from firearms caused death in 85.7%
of the cases. Risk factors and prevention measures of workplace homicide are discussed in this article according
