Abstract

In Luxembourg, a new legislation on organ donation
was promulgated on the 2nd July 2015: the law of the
25th June 2015 amending the act of the 25th November 1982 setting the sampling of substances of human
origin. This article will not only trace the progression
of the scope of the legislation on organ donation but
also illustrate the changes in the law that took place
in 2015. These changes took place in the light of the
willingness to ratify the Convention for the protection
of Human Rights and dignity of the human being
with regard to the application of biology and medicine: Convention on Human Rights and Biomedicine
(Oviedo Convention) of 1997, as well as the additional Protocol to the Convention on human Rights and
Biomedicine concerning transplantation of organs
and tissues of human origin (No. 186) of 2002.
