Abstract

Until recently, the gambling addiction have not been
viewed as a public health problem or as a public
policy issue. A new surge of research has expanded
our knowledge of gambling problem and its societal
impact in relation with new gaming venues and new
forms of gambling, with particular focus on the risks
such activity poses in respect of children and young
people. One of the main objectives of the french laws,
in particular the law n°2010-476, is to ensure that minors are neither encouraged to gamble nor allowed to
do so. The article explores certain key issues and specific regulatory challenges posed by internet and young
people from the potential risks of gambling addiction.
