Éthique et menace sanitaire

Abstract

Important conflicts may arise between the individual rights and measures of public health concern. We distinguish the situations which can be described as “routine” or “normal” (mandatory vaccination, use of individual and personal information by health authorities for notifiable diseases) and public health threat situation such as a pandemic flu; the paramount consequences of the latter, which will require the so called “barrier measures”, are described and the related juridical dispositions and their ethical limits are discussed.
