Abstract

Abstract: From the moment of genetic sex determination until
the development of the sexual phenotype there are a succession
of steps, a disruption of each of which may result in the
development of sexual ambiguities. Several genes have been
identified in the sex determining process during the last 20
years. The factors encoded by these genes act in a precise chronological manner and interact with each other. Sexual development is also highly sensitive to the levels of these factors.
