Growth factors and breast cancer

Abstract

Abnormalities in gene expression and signalling
pathways downstream of the growth factor receptors contribute to the progression and proliferation
of breast cancers To date, theses receptors and
signalling pathways are better understood leading
to a better classification of breast cancer. They also
are good targets of specific drugs. However, improvement of prognostic and predictive factors for
breast cancer remains necessary for a better individual treatment of patients with breast cancer.
