Abstract

Lower extremity ulcer is defined as a
wound located on the declining part of the lower limbs
evolving for more than a month without tendency to
spontaneous healing. The slow healing of an ulcer
cannot be explained only by its size and depth
but also by the existence of an underlying pathology which must lead to a specific treatment for
induce healing of the wound. The prevalence of ulcer
lower limbs from all causes is 1
% in the general population. A vascular origin is
found in the majority of cases. We find more
rarely an infectious or dermatological origin,
hematological, tumor, metabolic, neurological,
iatrogenic or traumatic. It is essential to know
all the pathologies that can lead to the ulcer of
leg in order to ensure adequate support
which alone will bring about healing.
