Abstract

As indicated by the findings of the report "Effectiveness and Efficiency of Lipid-Lowering Drugs, An Analysis
centered on statins "from the HAS Medicines Evaluation Service in July 2010, treatment with
statins are effective regardless of the patient profile.
Its cost / effectiveness ratio is considered favorable in secondary prevention, and in primary prevention for
patients at high risk Cardiovascular Risk (RCV). All statins combined, treatment with statins reduces the risk of all-cause mortality by 10% and the risk of cardiovascular events by 15% to 23%, according to
the event studied.
