Antiplatelet drug resistance: implications for clinical
practice and main platelet function testing.
Antiplatelet therapy is a cornerstone in the management
cardiovascular vascular disease, particularly in coronary
disease. Aspirine and clopidogrel are the most commonly
used antiplatelet drug in its management. However the risk
of recurrent atherothrombotic events was recently described and recently, there has been a concern about the resistance to antiplatelet agents.
Platelet function testing had been used to monitor
patient response to antiplatelet therapy.
