DOA and management of invasive procedures and/or bleeding episodes

Since their introduction on the market more than eight
years ago, the experience and data concerning patients
treated with direct oral anticoagulant (DOA) from programmed invasive action or emergency procédure are particularly enriched. At the same time, an increased risk of
haemorrhage during perioperative anticoagulant relay
(bridging) has been reported without a clear reduction in
thrombotic risk. Relay by parenteral anticoagulant is no
longer indicated. These new data lead to the adaptation of
the proposals put forward by the scientific societies and
the groups of experts which we shall discuss in this article
