Abstract

We present images of our daily practice of treating spider veins of the lower limbs, their feeding veins and some varicoses by sclerosis and / or Nd-Yag 1064 laser using the
transillumination at all diagnostic and therapeutic stages.
The treatment of spider veins themselves does not require transillumination because they are visible to the eye
naked. The interest of transillumination is nevertheless twofold:
• diagnostic because it helps identify feeding veins invisible to the eye and escaping the ultrasound machine,
• therapeutic because it allows us to sclerose or laserize in semi-darkness while following them
feeding veins.
