Abstract

Even a few years ago, the medical community considered superficial venous thrombosis (SVT)
as a benign pathology. The existence of associated pulmonary embolism seemed anecdotal as well as the
presence of deep vein thrombosis. The practice of routine lung scans in a
risky context, apart from all symptoms, highlighted the reality of this frequent pathology. Moreover,
the practice of a systematic doppler echo in patients with clinically limited TVS has shown a
apart from the frequent extension of the thrombus even beyond what clinical examination could suggest and
on the other hand, the existence of an associated venous thrombosis.
