Abstract

Ezetimibe (E), marketed in France under the name
of Ezetrol® is according to the definition of Vidal, a reducing agent
cholesterol and triglycerides. It inhibits so
selective intestinal absorption of cholesterol,
leading to a decrease in cholesterol intake
intestinal to the liver, so acts differently from others
cholesterol-lowering agents like statins -
which act on hepatic synthesis - or fibrates.
