In all 40 patients, the GVS was occluded, visualized as a hyperechoic area located
in the saphenous compartment. The saphenous stump was of variable length always less than 30 mm
and a size less than 10 mm without reflux. No inguinal recurrence through incontinent collaterals of the junction or the incontinent lympho-ganglionic dystrophic venous network was observed.
The color-coded study of the junction showed a Venturi-like suction phenomenon of the various
collateral branches of the still permeable junction towards the common femoral vein.
