Abstract

Today imaging a carotid stenosis before revascularisation is dependent on several techniques among those we
favored the angioCT. AngioCT is able to image the carotid
plaque, to measure precisely the stenosis according to
NASCET and to evaluate the brain. We reviewed the different techniques and their respective advantages. We proposed a global approach of carotid stenosis evaluation
which emphasizes the necessity to keep in mind the different imaging details to determine the surgical patient.
These propositions are based on medical evidences and our
daily practice in a french general hospital.
