Abstract

Fontaine's primary description described
obliterating arteriopathy of the limbs
lower through a progressive scale
severity, by identifying stage 3 (pain at rest) and stage 4 successive
(tissue damage). The daily report
objecting that stage 3 patients may be in a more critical condition than
patients affected by trophic lesions
parcels requested the introduction of
additional parameters.
The “Second European Consensus Document
on Chronic Critical Leg Ischaemia ”proposes
a definition of critical ischemia - applicable to diabetic patients as well
than non-diabetics - based on the following parameters: pain at rest, pressure
systolic ankle 50 mm Hg and / or digital pressure 30 mm Hg or ulceration or
gangrene of the foot or fingers + pressure
systolic ankle 50 mm Hg or digital pressure 30 mm Hg.
