Abstract

The project of “sinicization” of religions as described by Xi Jinping during the XIXth Party Congress, is the last avatar of the ever changing policy of the Chinese Communist Party toward religions. One constant, however, is the willingness of the Party to submit religions to its power, even as China is experiencing a remarkable religious revival.
