Abstract

With the President Trump holding a summit with his North Korean counterpart, it is interesting
to come back on the history and substance of NK-US negotiations over the past 30 years. It is
usually said that North Korea didn’t fulfill its commitments, but looking at the Agreed framework
and the Six Party Talks, the reality is more complex. It teaches us that if the negotiations are to
have a chance of success there are a lot of hard questions ahead
