Abstract

Compression using class 3 medical stockings is defined in France by a pressure between 20 and 36
mmHg. Because of this wide range - almost single to double - the lows and bands of characteristics
Significantly different techniques are prescribed for relatively similar indications. The decision of
prescribing a class 3 compression and the possible choice of a brand and a model are the responsibility
of the doctor. Does it have all the data allowing a relevant choice? Are the professional and / or institutional recommendations available appropriate (clear, precise, validated, applicable, etc.) and are they
followed? As we will see later, compression class 3 is mainly recommended in
severe forms of Chronic Venous Disease (CVD), and in acute situations.
