Abstract

North Korea’s focus on nuclear capacities development should be seen as a “logical” outcome of
global North Korean policies since the end of the Korean War. One needs to understand that balistic
and nuclear programs, as economical, cultural and ideological policies have a common denominator
that is Pyongyang’s long-standing quest for national soverignety. It is therefore appropriate to
think of crisis exit strategies that do not conflict with long-term goals of the DPRK as pyongjin
strategy seems to invite us.
